Technicians at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), in Laurel, Md., lower the lid of a shipping container housing one of the twin STEREO (Solar TErrestrial RElations Observatory) spacecraft. The shipping container protects the spacecraft and keeps it clean during its transport from APL to NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, in Greenbelt, Md., where the twin observatories will undergo additional pre-launch tests.
