Soldering in the Clean Room

APL spacecraft technicians are soldering an electrical connection on one of the twin STEREO observatories being built at APL in Laurel, Md. Soldering in a clean room must be carefully controlled. Technicians always use a vacuum to prevent particles or materials from contaminating flight hardware.
