Since the twin STEREO spacecraft are being assembled in a clean room facility, everything that enters the facility must first be precision cleaned and bagged to prevent particles, such as dust, for example, from potentially contaminating a spacecraft instrument or part. In this photo, some flight mechanical fasteners have been ultrasonically cleaned and are being prepared for entry into the clean room.
