Installing Reaction Wheels onto STEREO "B" Observatory

Download Hi-Res Image

A STEREO mechanical engineer at APL verifies placement and orientation of one of the four reaction wheels being mounted onto the STEREO "B" observatory (the one that will lag Earth in its orbit around the sun). The reaction wheels provide the spacecraft with attitude control and stability during its space-based operations.
